From the New Jersey State Police:

 

bulletShall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported, and in the course of travel, shall include only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances.

 

bulletThe firearm should not be directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console.

 

New Jersey Large Capacity Feeding Devices
 

bulletNew Jersey prohibits the manufacture, transport, shipment, sale or disposal of large capacity
ammunition magazines, unless the magazine is intended to be used for authorized military or law
enforcement purposes. N.J. Rev. Stat § 2C:39-9h. New Jersey law defines “large capacity
ammunition magazine” as a box, drum, tube or other container which is capable of holding more
than 15 rounds of ammunition to be fed continuously and directly into a semi-automatic firearm.
